10 km of Rivers in Dubai’s Desert

🚀 Is art landing in the desert?
In Dubai’s Margham desert, plans are underway for CLIO Desert Park – a monumental installation that will transform more than 1 million m² of sand into a flowing artwork. Some 25,000 modules measuring 2×2 m will form a 10 km linear canvas, 10 m wide.

🌌 Space centre: At the heart stands Clio House, a two‑level circular ‘spaceship’ where exhibitions, talks and residencies will be held, with panoramic views over the rivers of art.
♾ Message of inclusion: The artists want to show that people of different backgrounds can live together. The circular form symbolises equality and shared paths.
🎨 Materials: The canvas will resemble a river and uses pigments and fibres designed to withstand heat, humidity and UV rays.
📅 Timeline: Construction starts in March 2026, with a grand opening planned for March 2027; full completion is targeted for 2033. Over six years, CLIO expects to welcome 4.8 million visitors and employ more than 300 people.
🏜 Desert integration: The 10 km trail will thread through Skydive Dubai’s Margham drop zone, attracting tourists and extreme‑sports fans.

For locals and investors, Margham could become a new cultural hotspot. Do you think this project will boost real estate and tourism? Let me know!
